CORTE ANTICA 2005
The CORTE ANTICA ensemble is composed of musicians coming from the early music world. The purpose of playing a highly expressive and lively repertoire has brought the group to perform mainly medieval and Renaissance music.
In the revival of a medieval feast with performance of vocal and instrumental pieces, dances and recitation of contemporary texts, the melodic and rhythmic features which distinguish this repertoire are brought to the foreground.
The extreme liveliness of the instrumental forms, accompanied by a bright rhythmic section, are enhanced by dance and singing.
CORTE ANTICA has made until now two CD recordings: "In taberna" for Rivo Alto (2000) and a live performance done in the context of the seminar "Back to the past sounds", by Regione Veneto (2003). The group is now recording a CD of Renaissance music.
